About The Basement
The Basement is a live, immersive escape room attraction where guests become part of an exciting cinematic horror adventure. Each escape room experience places your group inside a highly detailed environment where you must search for clues, solve puzzles, uncover hidden secrets, and work together to survive before time runs out. In some of our experiences, you will also meet and interact with characters from the story who attempt to help you escape.
An escape room is an interactive entertainment experience where a group enters a themed environment and works together to complete objectives before the clock runs out. Players will search the room, traverse hidden passageways, solve puzzles, discover clues, and use teamwork, communication, and logic to progress through the story.
At The Basement, our escape rooms are designed to feel less like traditional escape rooms and more like stepping into a real horror film.
No. The Basement is not a traditional haunted house or walk-through maze. In a haunted house, guests usually move through a path while scares happen around them. At The Basement, your group is an active part of the experience.
You will need to explore the environment, interact with the room, solve puzzles, and make decisions as the story unfolds around you.
Booking, Pricing, and Reservations
Yes. Every booking at The Basement is a private experience. Only your group will be inside the room. You will never be paired with strangers.

Yes. Once you reserve the minimum number of tickets required for your selected date, time, and experience, your reservation is locked in. You may add additional players any time before your game by calling us at (866) 993-7227, and we can process the additional tickets using the card on file or a new card.
You may also add and pay for additional players when you arrive for your reservation, as long as your group does not exceed the maximum capacity for the room.
Yes. Each reservation requires a minimum number of tickets in order to book. Minimum ticket requirements vary by day of the week and by experience.
Monday through Thursday, most rooms require a minimum of two tickets to book. Friday through Sunday, most rooms require a minimum of four tickets, with the exception of The Elevator Shaft, which remains a two-ticket minimum.

The listed maximum capacity for each room is our strong recommendation for the best overall experience. In some cases, we may be able to accommodate one or two additional guests, depending on the room and location.
Please keep in mind that exceeding the recommended capacity may make the experience feel more crowded and may affect comfort, movement, and overall gameplay. If you would like to bring more guests than the listed capacity, please contact us before your reservation so we can confirm what is possible for your selected experience.
If you would like to book multiple games on the same day, please leave at least 75 minutes between the start time of one game and the start time of the next.
This allows enough time for your first experience, post-game wrap-up, check-in for your next game, and pre-game instructions without delaying the schedule. Reservations booked too close together may need to be adjusted or cancelled, depending on the schedule for that day.
We strongly recommend making a reservation in advance. While our business hours may be posted, staff may not always be on site unless there are active reservations scheduled.
Walk-ins may be possible depending on staff availability and the day’s schedule, but they are not guaranteed. For the best experience, please make a reservation online or call ahead before arriving.
To make a reservation, click the “Book Now” button in the top right corner of our website. From there, you will be able to select your location, experience, date, time, and number of players.
Please review your selected date and time carefully before completing your purchase. We often receive calls from guests who accidentally book the wrong day, and we may not be able to refund, reschedule, or adjust the reservation if the mistake is discovered too late.
Yes. Gift vouchers are available for purchase online through our website and in person at the reception desk at any of our locations.
When you purchase a gift voucher online, a unique voucher code will be emailed to you. You can forward that code or give it to the recipient immediately. When you purchase a gift voucher in person, you will receive a physical gift voucher with a unique code.
Gift vouchers can be redeemed during the booking process by entering the voucher code into the promo code field. The value of the voucher will then be applied to the reservation total.
Each gift voucher includes a unique voucher code. To redeem it, begin the booking process on our website and enter the voucher code into the promo code field before completing your purchase.
Once the code is applied, the value of the voucher will be deducted from your reservation total. If the voucher does not cover the full cost of the booking, you will be responsible for paying the remaining balance.
Reservations may be rescheduled with at least 48 hours’ notice before your scheduled reservation time. To request a reschedule, please call us at (866) 993-7227.
If your reservation is less than 48 hours away, we are unable to reschedule it. Please keep this in mind when making a last-minute booking, as reservations made within 48 hours of the scheduled start time are also not eligible to be rescheduled.
Reservations may be rescheduled with at least 48 hours’ notice, subject to availability. We do not offer refunds, credits, or reschedules for cancellations, no-shows, late arrivals, or same-day changes.

Timing, Arrival, and Visit Length
All standard escape rooms at The Basement are 45 minutes long. However, guests should plan to be in the building for approximately 90 minutes total to allow time for check-in, waivers, rules, the experience itself, and any post-game wrap-up.
The only exception is our Dead & Breakfast experience, where guests play multiple rooms back-to-back and are allowed up to 90 minutes per escape room.
We recommend arriving approximately 10 to 15 minutes before your scheduled reservation time. This gives your group time to check in, use the restroom, complete any remaining waivers, and receive important pre-game instructions before your experience begins.
Your reservation begins at the scheduled time you selected during booking. If your group arrives after that time, your game time will most likely be reduced.
Because our schedule is carefully timed for all guests, we are not able to extend your booking due to late arrival. If you are running late, please contact us as soon as possible by calling (866) 993-7227.
Safety, Waivers, and Guest Requirements
Yes. For your safety and the safety of our employees, every guest must sign a safety waiver before participating. We recommend completing your waiver before you arrive.
After making your reservation, you will receive a confirmation email with a waiver link. You are welcome to forward that email to the other members of your group so each guest can complete their waiver using the same link.
The Basement is recommended for guests ages 12 and up due to the horror themes, dark environments, intense moments, and puzzle difficulty. This is a strong recommendation, not a strict age requirement, and the final decision is up to the parent or guardian.
The only hard requirement is that every player must be able to walk on their own without being carried, guided, or held by the hand during the experience. All guests under 18 must be accompanied by at least one adult, age 18 or older, at all times. All guests inside the experiences, including chaperones, must purchase a ticket.
We recommend enjoying alcohol or other substances after your experience is over. However, we understand that some guests may go out to dinner or have a drink before their reservation.
Guests may not participate if they arrive noticeably impaired, disruptive, or unable to follow pre-game instructions, safety rules, or staff directions. If our staff determines that a guest cannot safely participate, that guest may be asked to leave without a refund, credit, or reschedule.
Participation while pregnant is entirely up to the guest. Our experiences may include moments of intensity, stress, darkness, sudden movement, and live performers moving through the space, sometimes quickly or unexpectedly.
Because of this, we generally recommend that pregnant guests sit out the experience. However, the final decision is yours. Please consider your personal comfort, health, and safety before deciding whether to participate.
Our immersive experiences contain things like loud noises, strobe lights, theatrical fog, water effects, and the like. If you have a pacemaker, a heart condition, or any other health issue that may be exacerbated or that you feel could be dangerous from this stuff, we ask that you please sit this out.

Yes. The doors are technically locked once your game begins, but guests are never trapped. Each room has a clearly marked emergency exit option or panic button that allows you to leave safely at any time.
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and shoes that allow you to move around easily. Most guests wear casual clothes such as jeans, t-shirts, and sneakers. We recommend leaving smartwatches at home or in your vehicle, as they can unintentionally provide light and affect the dark atmosphere of the experience.
You do not need to bring anything with you to play. Everything required for the experience will be provided.
Most of our experiences are wheelchair accessible. There are certain areas of the games that may be difficult for those in a wheelchair to access; however, the majority of each game is accessible.

Scare Level, Actors, and Gameplay
It depends on who you are and your level of sensitivity to horror and the macabre. The Basement is designed to be intense, suspenseful, and at times frightening. Our experiences include horror themes, dark environments, unsettling storylines, realistic sets, and, in some rooms, live performers.
That said, our focus is not on cheap jump scares and gore. We create immersive, story-driven horror experiences built around atmosphere, tension, teamwork, and puzzle-solving.
Don’t worry! Guests may leave the room at any time during the experience. Our staff is trained to assist guests who feel overwhelmed or no longer wish to continue.
Please note, however, that leaving the experience early does not qualify for a refund, credit, or reschedule.
Yes. We provide help during the experience when we determine it is necessary. However, clues are not delivered on demand in the traditional escape room style.
Our games, staff, and performers follow specific timing and story-based methods for helping groups progress. When help is provided, it may be delivered in a way that feels natural to the world of the experience rather than as an obvious hint from outside the room.
All of our experiences include live performers. In those experiences, performers may make physical contact with guests during the game, but never in an aggressive, inappropriate, or unsafe way.
Guests may not touch performers under any circumstances unless a performer clearly indicates that specific contact is necessary for the game to continue. We have a zero-tolerance policy for verbal abuse, physical abuse, harassment, or unsafe behavior toward our staff or performers.
If a performer feels uncomfortable or unsafe at any time, they may immediately leave the game, and your group may be required to continue without that performer. In more serious situations, your group may be asked to leave without a refund, credit, or reschedule.
No. Although our experiences are connected by a larger story, you do not need to play them in a specific order to understand or enjoy your game.
Each room is designed to stand on its own, so first-time guests can start with any available experience.
