Kansas City Private Events & Team Building

All standard reservations at The Basement are private, meaning your group will never be paired with strangers inside the escape room.

A private event, however, includes more than just the escape room experience. Private events are designed for birthdays, bachelor and bachelorette parties, corporate team-building events, company outings, celebrations, and other group gatherings that would like access to our dedicated private event space.

Private events require a minimum of six participants and may be booked outside of normal public booking hours with advance notice, subject to availability. For every escape room your group books, you receive one hour of access to the private event space, up to a maximum of three hours.

This event space time can be divided around your games in whatever way works best for your group. For example, if you book two games, you may receive up to two hours in the event space. You could use one hour before your first game, 30 minutes between games, and 30 minutes after your final game.

Private event pricing is typically higher than our standard escape room reservations because it includes additional event coordination and access to our private event space.

We highly recommend using our catering options because our team handles the food coordination for you. Once you select the option that best fits your event, we take care of the details so you can focus on enjoying the experience with your group.

Yes. You are welcome to bring your own food for a private event, including birthday cakes, desserts, and other refreshments.

We also offer catering if you would prefer our team to coordinate food for your group. Many hosts choose our catering options for convenience, but outside food is allowed in the private event space.

If you bring your own food rather than use our catering, a minor cleaning fee applies to help cover additional setup and cleanup. Please submit the event inquiry form at the bottom of this page and let us know your plans so our team can confirm the current fee for your location and group size.

Yes. We regularly host high-profile guests, influencers, public figures, and private groups who require additional discretion.

Depending on the location and event details, we may be able to provide discreet arrival options, private access points, and other accommodations to limit public exposure. At some locations, arrangements may be available for guests to enter through a private back entrance or pull a vehicle directly into the building.
